Brief

Ayogo and Genentech collaborate on award winning health games.

In this game worked in Art Direction and Audio Design. I directed the visual style of the game and designed some parts of the visual experience and audio assets. We looked for a bunch of inspiration to create a game that was fun to use and educational.

Challenge

Genentech came to Ayogo Health with the design challenge of creating a digital experience that could educate a population regarding cancer treatments, specifically on immunotherapy.

Collaborate with Creative Director and Development team to create the core fantasy of the game based on the “Everyday Epic” campaign and brand identity of Genentech. I’ve worked on the design of 3 games in science, that required to be fun and visually appealing. I was responsible for the creation of the user interfaces, game graphics and sounds.

Well, we had to create a blood stream game that wasn’t bloody, neither childish. The team brainstorm and researched about different technologies that could help this build. The game was required to be a web app so performance was critical to the project. Also, we had to create an engaging experience.

Design

I wanted to generate depth of field by having layers of elements running at different speed as the game play happen. We made a lot of variations on the cells, played with different styles and effects, and we finally used the ones that were more identifiable at the speed of the game. The user interface was very simple and clean, using ghost and white solid buttons.

The idea was blood cells running in the bloodstream, in which the user had to tap these cells.
